YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Beatitude House is seeking donations for its Santa’s Workshop event on Dec. 17.
Every year, homeless children living at Beatitude House have an opportunity to pick out a gift for their mom, wrap it and put it under the Christmas tree. Items can be something practical such as gloves, scarves, socks, slippers or dish towels or something not so practical, like a bath set, jewelry, picture frames, books or perfume. No candles can be accepted.
Anyone interested in donating gifts for the workshop can bring their unwrapped items to the Beatitude House administrative office at 238 Tod Lane on the campus of St. Edward Parish. Donations are being accepted from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 12.
In addition to the Santa’s Workshop event, Beatitude House will host its annual fundraiser “Christmas at the Lake” from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 14 at The Lake Club in Poland.
The family-friendly holiday event will feature a performance by Hey Kid!, the region’s most popular children’s musical group, and a special appearance by magician Tom Phoolery. The event also will include brunch catered by The Lake Club and a variety of holiday activities for children, including ornament making, letters to Santa and cookie decorating.
There also will be an adult silent auction and children’s ticket auction. All proceeds benefit the families of Beatitude House.
Advanced reservations are required. Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for children and children 3 and under are free. There is limited seating available and reservations can be made by visiting the website or by calling 330-744-3147.
