BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – Police arrested a Boardman man Sunday night, charging him with shooting at his ex-girlfriend while intoxicated, according to a police report.
Boardman Police stated that they found Anthony Magrini, 47, near his Boardman residence after receiving a call from his ex-girlfriend that he had tried to shoot at her.
Magrini’s ex-girlfriend stated that Magrini was waiting outside the apartment of her current boyfriend when the two of them exited the apartment Sunday around 10 p.m. According to the report, she gave Magrini the middle finger and the two continued to her vehicle, which her current boyfriend drove.
After Magrini followed his ex-girlfriend to the intersection of Appleridge Circle and Applewood Blvd., she got out of the car and told him to leave her alone. Magrini then pointed a gun at her and fired, the report states, with the bullet bouncing off the roadway. The woman said she got back into her car, and the two drove off, seeing Magrini go the opposite direction on Applewood Blvd.
After finding Magrini, police searched his vehicle and found an open container of beer and a marijuana pipe. According to the report, Magrini refused to perform field sobriety tests and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after a police officer said he observed signs of intoxication.
