Tressels ring bell for Salvation Army

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – Youngstown State University President Jim Tressel and his wife, Ellen, stepped in to help the Salvation Army on Tuesday.

They were ringing the bell at the Shops at Boardman Park as part of YSU Administration Day for the Salvation Army. Tressel said they are happy to help.

“The Salvation Army has been doing this forever. And it is just uplifting. Even if you are the one ringing the bell, it reminds you how blessed we are. It is our responsibility to help one another,” Tressel said.

Last year, the Red Kettle Campaign raised more than $135 million nationally.
