WARREN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WYTV) – A man pumping gas likely saved an industrial building from going up in flames on Monday evening.

Firefighters responded to Institutional Foods, 2927 Mahoning Ave. N.W. about 6:30 p.m. after a man at the Get-Go gas station across the street called 911 to report flames shooting from the roof. Firefighters from Warren City and Warren Township arrived within minutes of the call, according to Chief Matt Balut of the Trumbull County Fire Investigation Unit.

Balut said damage is estimated at $2,000 and the fire was contained to the roof. The cause is still under investigation.

He said a computer company is operating out of a portion of the building, which used to house a food and beverage distribution facility.
