Brookfield rebounds for an impressive win

BROOKFIELD, Ohio (WYTV) – The Warriors improve to 2-1 after notching their second win in a week against Trumbull County foes with their 83-61 victory tonight over Liberty. Brookfield led after the first quarter by one point (15-14). Coach Bill Kovach’s group went onto score 68 points over the next 24 minutes.

Brookfield, as a team, shot 78.6% (11-14) from the free throw line. Nate Johnson led the Warriors with 25 points as he made 11 field goals. Brian Hiner was 5 of 6 from the charity stripe as he finished with 19. Davon Sims and Jacob Jackson scored 15 and 14 points respectively.

The Leopards were led by Lynn Bowden’s 16 points while Ben Phillips had 12 and JaShaun Whitman added 10.

Liberty will face East tomorrow evening at 7 pm. The Warriors will take on Campbell on Tuesday.
