Hickory falls to George Junior

GROVE CITY, Pennsylvania (WYTV) – With the game tied at 49 entering the final quarter, George Junior Republic outscored Hickory over the last eight minutes 24-14 to gain a 73-63 victory.

The Hornets led at the half by four points (35-31) but a strong fourth quarter was enough for the Tigers.

George Junior only shot 40% from the line (6-15) but received a huge game from Lamier Barnes who made three shots from beyond the arc for 22 points. Juan James also added 17 while Darryll Johnson and Antoine Baker had 10 points apiece. Baker also finished the contest with 10 rebounds.

The Tigers lost their last outing three days ago to DuBois by a single point (62-61). Next up for George Junior (2-2) is a match up with Conneaut (PA) on Tuesday.

After defeating Visionquest last Saturday, the Hornets have lost back to back games by allowing Mooney to score 73 on Tuesday and tonight allowing George Junior to post another 73 points. Hickory will welcome Oil City on Wednesday.
