Parent: Urination on paper led to Warren Harding brawl

A mom of a Warren Harding student said a student urinating on a paper led to a brawl

WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – The parents of some of those involved in Wednesday’s fight at Warren G. Harding High School in Trumbull are speaking out. They say their kids were called animals, and they were labeled as bad parents on social media.

“It was very very painful, no mother wants to see their child attacked by anybody,” mother Jamie Myhand said.

But the moms of the students involved said the attacks kept coming after the story became news.

“Being animals, and all the people being like, you need to get your kids and be better parents, when they are not knowing the whole story going on,” mother Tasha Russell said.

Betty Anderson said the fight is the direct result of her 16 year old son being bullied. She said it started a couple of years ago.

“He told the guy he didn’t want to fight with him and he had a birthday coming up,” Anderson said “He just didn’t want to fight, and the guy just kept picking, picking, picking.”

It culminated in an incident in the boys bathroom on Tuesday, which she found out after the brawl.

“The guy took his paper out of his hand and threw it on the floor and peed on it,” Anderson said.

Teachers intervened in the bathroom incident. but it didn’t end there. As their sons were about to get on the bus, they were attacked.

Anderson said it’s her son that was seen in the video knocked unconscious after she says he was sucker-punched.

“I got teary-eyed,” Anderson said. “Tears was coming to my eyes.”

They said the boys were defending each other since they are family.

“The principal told him, ‘If it was your family and you see them in an altercation,’ he said, ‘You should have backed away,’ and I’m like, ‘Who would back away if you see your family getting jumped.'”

WKBN asked the high school principal if they are investigating the allegations of bullying, and he said, he cant really tell me anything because its all still under investigation.

Parents tell me that they could know their sons’ fate as to whether they face expulsion on Monday.
