EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WYTV) – The on-again, off-again merger between East Liverpool City Hospital and Mercy Health is back on again.
A letter of intent to merge the two was signed on Thursday. River Valley Health Partners, which operates the Columbiana County hospital, and Mercy Health, the former Humility of Mary Health Partners, had a deal in February but it was called off when the nurses union would not agree on a contract.
The labor issue has been resolved, so the merger is back on.
Mercy Health operates St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown and Boardman, and St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.
