YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Youngstown Police have confirmed that the person who died in a fatal accident late Wednesday night is John Kasich, 55, from Austintown, of no relation to Ohio Governor John Kasich.
Youngstown Police Lt. Bill Ross told WKBN that three middle-aged men, including Kasich, were involved in the crash. YPD confirmed that the accident involved two different vehicles. Kasich was driving alone.
The two men in the other car, who were both injured, were a father and son, both named David Simon, but with different middle initials.
Officials are still awaiting the results of toxicology tests to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
Police are not sure where the vehicle entered the Expressway.
The accident happened about 10 p.m. Wednesday.
