Venues across the Valley help revelers ring in New Year

Hundreds father for First Night in Canfield, Ohio

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Hundreds gathered to ring in the New Year in Youngstown.

First Night Youngstown was held Wednesday night, spanning several locations across town.

Music, dancing, swimming, entertainment and specialty foods were all part of the fun at various locations in downtown and on the campus of Youngstown State University.

The alcohol-free, family friendly celebration began at 4 p.m. and culminated with two fireworks shows at the Covelli Centre scheduled for 9 p.m. and Midnight.

WRTA buses were running free of charge all evening.

First Night Canfield was also a big hit New Year’s Eve. A dinner show kicked off the evening at the Canfield United Methodist Church.

Revelers were then invited to attend to several venues around town that included live entertainment, crafts, food and games.
