Icy conditions, rising water cause concern

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The change in weather overnight Sunday and the heavy rain that fell over the weekend have prompted concerns.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike has issued a travel advisory on Interstate 76 from the Ohio line heading east.

The advisory is in effect all day Monday.

Also, drivers heading north toward Ashtabula County will run into heavier snowfall on parts of Interstate 90 near the Route 11 exit because of lake effect snow.

Residents living along the Mahoning River in Leavittsburg are keeping their eyes on the rising water after heavy rainfall over the weekend.

A flood warning has been issued for the river in Leavittsburg and Eagle Creek at Phalanx Station.
