Last Meeting: Just a week into the season, Springfield redeemed themselves after a District Semifinal loss (55-53) in the Salem District to Lisbon last year. Graham Mincher erupted for 30 points and 7 rebounds for the Tigers, making 10 of 11 from the foul stripe. Three others finished in double figures (Hunter Snyder, 12; Jordon Peterson, 10; Mark Schuler, 10). Lisbon was paced by Avery Andric, who had 19. Josh Craig posted a double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds) as well as Josh Liberati (10 points, 12 assists).

Noteworthy
Over the past two years, Springfield and Lisbon have been the top teams in the Upper Tier. The Tigers have won 20 of 21 conference games while Lisbon has been victorious in 17 of 21. Actually, the Tigers only loss in the division in their past 41 games was against Lisbon last January (52-50).

Lisbon’s Austin Rutecki has been about as consistent as they come by scoring in double figures in each of the team’s twelve games this season (scoring 20 points or more three times). Josh Craig has averaged 18 points a game over his last four. Coach Chris Huckshold has posted a 65-62 record in his six years at the helm of Blue Devil basketball. Lisbon is on pace to break the school’s win record for two-years.

Springfield has won their last five games by an average of 33 points. The Tigers have posted a 67-15 mark over the last four seasons. Coach Eric Fender, who’s in his 6th season at Springfield, is on the verge of a historic figure. Fender is in 4th place on Springfield’s coaching wins list.

On Tuesday, the Tigers jumped out to a 49-22 lead at halftime as they secured a 76-45 win over Mineral Ridge. Mincher led Springfield with 24 as Brandon Chamberlain added 21. The Tigers made eight 3-point baskets.
