YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Youngstown Catholic Diocese issued a statement on former Cardinal Mooney Principal John Young, who was fired in mid-January.
The statement says that Young was fired in order to help improve the school’s academic programs.
The statement says, in part:
In recent days there has been a great deal of discussion, speculation and unfounded rumors about the separation from Cardinal Mooney High School of Mr. John Young as principal.
Much of the speculation has arisen because under the laws of the State of Ohio, an employer cannot divulge the details of an employee’s personnel record to the public. Consequently, in this matter, the Diocese of Youngstown can offer only very limited information.
The statement says that the reasons for his firing were communicated to him.
Young’s signature is on the statement, which can be read here.
