WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Trumbull County Commissioners are contemplating merging the county’s two engineering departments into one.
Commissioners have been looking at several options when it comes to the county engineer and sanitary engineer departments after delays and problems that have arisen out of the Kinsman Sewer project.
Commissioner Dan Polivka said he would like to see instituted changes to the way projects are done so they do not exceed agreed-upon bid prices on future projects.
“You have sewer projects, road projects, and with the coordination with county engineer and sanitary engineer, and the extra engineers communicating and talking, and that could possibly help for future projects,” Trumbull County Commissioner Dan Polivka said.
Polivka said they have been talking with the Mahoning County engineer’s department about how their organizational structure works. Commissioners gave no word on when they plan to make a decision on the possible merger.
