2 killed in Austintown crash

Two people were killed in a fatal crash in Austintown, Ohio.

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Two people were killed in a two-vehicle accident in Austintown.

According to Sgt. Bret Henderson, a pickup truck was traveling east on Mahoning Avenue at about 11 a.m. Thursday when the driver lost control, went left of center and hit a Penske moving truck traveling in the opposite direction.

Two elderly people in the pickup were killed. The driver of the Penske truck was not injured.

Mahoning Avenue between Lipke and Turner roads is closed as crews work to clear the scene.

The identities of the victims have not been released.
