Ceremony marks new U.S. citizenship

Youngstown naturalization ceremony

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Nine individuals from around the world were naturalized as new U.S. citizens Thursday.

The ceremony took place at the Mahoning County Courthouse.

Gregory Mitchell said he has waited 24 years for this day.

“I’ve been in the country since 1991 so it is nice to be finally part of the U.S. completely,” Mitchell said.

The next naturalization ceremony will take place in early March.
