YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Youngstown family is on their way to warmer weather thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The guest of honor was 4-year-old Conner Metzinger. Conner has FOXG1 syndrome. Conner’s mom, Melissa Barrett, said the syndrome is similar to cerebral palsy.

The family of four boarded an Allegiant Flight to Orlando Thursday morning for a seven-day trip to Florida and Disney World.

Conner made the most of his wait to board the flight by flirting with people in the airport. His mom says it is his favorite thing to do.

“Flirting is probably his favorite thing to do. Swimming would be next and them playing the piano and watching cartoons comes in third,” Barrett said.

Conner received a basket full of his favorite things to take to Florida with him which included a giant Nemo stuffed animal and Mickey Mouse activity books.

Andrea Hoffman, with the Youngstown Warren Regional Airport, said Make-A-Wish is Allegiant’s primary charity.

“It is important that we support our community and Allegiant and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It is a great charity,” Hoffman said.
