CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Power has been restored to thousands of customers in the Boardman, Canfield and Salem areas, but there are still nearly 2,000 people without power in Boardman.
Ohio Edison spokesman Mark Durbin said 1,800 customers are still without power in the Boardman area and crews are hoping to have power restored by 12:30 a.m. Thursday. He said a blown fuse at a substation on Route 224 caused the outage and the fuse has been replaced, but other repairs to the transmission line must be made before power is completely restored.
At the height of the outage, 6,000 customers were without power in Boardman, Canfield and Salem. The power went out around 8 p.m.
