NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WYTV)-Springfield’s Mark Schuler made his decision to play football at YSU official Wednesday after signing his letter of intent.
Offensively last season, Schuler caught 9 passes for 62 yards and a touchdown for the Tigers. He was also a force on defense, finishing with 73 total tackles (47 solo), and 8 tackles for loss. He also tallied 4 sacks.
On special-teams as a punter, Schuler was named Division VI First-Team All-State, after he averaged 40.5 yards per kick, pinning twelve inside the 20-yard line.
“This is a time that there is so much excitement at YSU. To be a part of it, and to be wanted is special. I want to help bring excitement to the community.”
Schuler chose to play for the Penguins over Mercyhurst, Walsh, Slippery Rock, and Hillsdale.
