Authorities find underweight dogs at Sharon house

underweight dogs seized in sharon

SHARON, Pa. (WYTV) – Authorities found three dogs and a cat, all severely underweight, at a Sharon home over the weekend, and have moved all into an animal shelter, according to Humane Society Agent Sandi Drabick.

A relative contacted the humane society regarding the dogs at the house on Memorial St. in Sharon.

Authorities cited the owner, who voluntarily gave up two of the dogs and a cat last Friday, for animal cruelty. Warrants were issued Saturday for the third dog.

According to Drabick, one of the dogs went into cardiac arrest at a veterinarian’s office.

The dogs are being housed at New Lease on Life on Midlothian Blvd. in Struthers.

The Humane Society of Mercer County is asking for donations to help pay veterinary costs. Donations can be sent to the humane society at P.O. Box 1046. Hermitage, PA 16148. The humane society can be reached by phone at 724-981-5445.Authorities find underweight dogs at Sharon house
