Mother of Warren teen found in feces-filed house arrested

NILES, Ohio (WYTV) – Police arrested a woman last Wednesday, Jan. 28, charging that she endangered her child, who authorities found in a feces-filled house in November.

Niles Police arrested Melissa Bland at a Dollar General market after a warrant was issued for her. Bland posted $1,000 bond and is now free.

Back in November, Warren police went to the 2800 block of Beck St. S.E. to check on the welfare of a teenager who is visually impaired. Authorities said the house was filthy, containing dog feces and little to no food.

Police learned of the situation from the teen’s step-father, who had paid a visit.
