CANFIELD, Ohio (WYTV) – Power has been restored to nearly 6,000 customers in the Boardman, Canfield and Salem areas.
Boardman Fire Dispatchers received multiple calls about a transformer that was on fire at the electricity substation on Route 224 in Boardman around 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Ohio Edison spokesman Mark Durbin said a blown fuse at a substation on Route 224 caused the outage and the fuse has been replaced.
Equipment repairs restored most of the lost power, but left nearly 2,000 Boardman customers without power around 11 p.m. Wednesday.
After repairs to the transmission lines were done, power was completely restored 12:15 a.m. Thursday.
