Cornhole tournament held for boy battling cancer

A cornhole tournament fundraiser was held in Niles, Ohio.

NILES, Ohio (WYTV) – Niles resident George Davis held a fundraiser Saturday for a little boy he hardly knows.

Davis sponsored a Cornhole tournament to raise money for 9-year-old Vinnie Massacci who is undergoing chemotherapy for throat cancer.

Davis has never met Vinnie and only learned about his condition a few weeks ago in a newspaper story. Which begs the question: Why go through all the trouble?

“I just want to help out. Help out anybody I can. I know I can’t help out everybody, but I do what I can to help out the few I come in contact with,” Davis said.

Davis said this isn’t the first time he has done something like this and doesn’t plan to stop.

In addition to the Cornhole, tournament, the day also featured raffles and giveaways.
