A Youngstown police officer spotted the van circling a south side neighborhood. He discovered the van was stolen out of Erie County, Pa., and began a pursuit.

During the low-speed chase, the driver jumped out of the van at the corner of Alymra and Hudson avenues. The van continued on, hitting a fire hydrant.

Police immediately caught the driver.

The van contained a large amount of tools that police believe are stolen.

The Youngstown Water Department has since made repairs to the hydrant.

The driver suffered minor injuries upon jumping from the van. No one else was hurt in the incident.
