Series History: Howland had won 9 consecutive meetings with Niles until two years ago. The Red Dragons have taken three of their last four meetings from the Tigers.

Last Meeting: Cameron Kane scorched the nets for 29 points on 11 of 17 shooting from the field as Niles ran away with a 90-55 victory over the rival-Howland Tigers. Corey Hayes was one rebound short of a double-double (13 points, 9 rebounds) while Muhammad Salaam scored 18 for the Dragons.

Noteworthy
Howland has dropped four of their last five contests to fall to 5-13 on the season and 2-9 in league play. On Tuesday, the Tigers were handed a 72-44 home loss to Fitch. Luciano Romeo scored 15 in the losing effort.

The Tigers have allowed their opponents’ to score 70 points or more in 11 of their 18 games.

Howland has failed to record a winning season since 2011-12 (14-8). Over the last three years, the Tigers have compiled a 21-43 record (32.9%).

The Red Dragons have lost two of their last three matchups after posting four straight wins in the middle-to-end of January.

During the campaign, Niles has been held below 55 points just three times (1-2). When their opponents are able to score 60 points or more – the Dragons are just 4-6.

Niles has been led by the play of junior Cameron Kane who has averaged 26 points per game in 17 contests. Kane has filled the stat sheet with 30 or more points six times and was held to a season-low 15 points against Hubbard on January 16. Number has dished out an average of 3.8 assists and has grabbed 3.8 rebounds a game this year.

With a win, the Dragons would top last year’s win total (9-14). Niles completed their AAC White Division schedule with a 6-4 mark. The last time, Niles was able to post a winning record in their league was in 2005-06 (6-4).
