POLAND, Ohio (WYTV) – It is looking like Mahoning County will be getting its second roundabout.
Funding has been approved for the roundabout at Five Points, which is the intersection of Western Reserve Road, North Lima Road and Springfield Road on the border of Poland Township and Springfield Township.
The federal government will pay for the entire $1.5 million project, with the money being funneled through the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments. The design phase will start this year and right-of-way acquisition will begin next year. Construction is expected to start in 2017.
This will be the second roundabout in Mahoning County. Last year, a roundabout opened at the intersection of Mathews Road and Sheridan Road in Boardman.
