WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Trumbull County African-American Achievers Association inducted new members into its hall of fame Saturday.
The annual event recognizes the accomplishments of the African American community.
Warren City Councilwoman Cheryl Saffold is one of this year’s inductees. The association says its happy to add new members and talked about the importance of having the annual event.
“We struggled all through our lives, and now it is a positive thing that we are looking at and it is positive in the fact that we can take pride in our African-American culture,” said Robert Davis, African American Achievers Association.
The ceremony also celebrated Black History Month. This is the 30th year for the induction ceremony.
