SHARON, PA (WYTV) – The Sharon Police Department and other law enforcement agencies continue to search for a suspect in an early Saturday morning homicide.

Police say Michael Bagnall, 31, of Sharon, is wanted in connection to the death of Jaylen “Bubby” West.

According to Police Chief Gerald Smith, West was found shot to death in the 300 block of Quinby Street about 2:30 a.m.

Sharon and surrounding departments have been conducting a search by land and air.

Smith said they are working with multiple departments to locate Bagnall – including Youngstown police and the U.S. Marshals.

“We are following up some leads. At the present time, we have asked for assistance from the U.S. Marshals Office to help us with some leads we are working on,” Smith said.

Federal law enforcement had to be brought in because there’s a possibility that Bagnall isn’t in Pennsylvania anymore and could be making his way to Ohio.

“We just seem to be 10 minutes behind him everywhere he went,” Smith said. “We were following leads as quick as we could act on them, and we just got there later than he left.”

Smith said Bagnall and West were not related, but they did know each other.

Police caution that Bagnall is to be treated as armed and dangerous.

If spotted, do not approach him. Instead, call the Mercer County 911 Center at 724-662-6110.
