SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) – Amanda Bromley didn’t plan on delivering her son naturally, much less outside of the hospital, but that’s exactly what happened.

Bromley and her husband arrived to StoneCrest Medical Center around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

By the time her husband dropped her off outside the Emergency Room entrance and parked the car, their baby was halfway out.

“We made it here quick, but not quick enough,” Bromley recalled. “His head was out about two inches before I ever got out of the car.”

As she stood on the sidewalk, two sisters, both off-duty nurses, saw her in distress.

“They easily laid me down on the concrete right in front of [a sign], it says Emergency Room. That’s where I had the baby,” Bromley said.

Bromley safely delivered her son Nathan with the help of the sisters.

“If them [sic] ladies weren’t there, he may not have made it,” she said. “Thank God they were there when they were.”

Bromley said the nurses have since sent her balloons, but she has not had the opportunity to thank them in person.

Baby Nathan is happy and healthy. He weighed in at 6 pounds and 14 ounces.
