Body found may be connected to Lisbon incident

LISBON, Ohio (WYTV) – An unidentified man’s body was found Wednesday morning off Seigler Road in Wayne Township.

According to Columbiana County Sheriff Ray Stone, the body is believed to be connected to an incident reported at a Desellem Road trailer in Lisbon over the weekend and was most likely dumped at the Seigler Road location, according to our print partner, the Lisbon Morning Journal.

Stone said Wednesday a man is in custody and is considered a “person of interest” in the death of the man found. Stone declined to comment on what he believes could be the cause of death.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Information and Investigation and the Columbiana County Coroner’s Office are investigating. There was no identification found with the body, the newspaper reported.

Deputies were tipped to the location of the body by someone who was out walking and came upon “something suspicious.”

Police were contacted Sunday by a man on Desellem Road who told deputies his neighbor told him he had killed a man at a party on Friday night, but police had no body or evidence to determine if the crime actually happened.

Since then, a man was arrested on a tampering with evidence charge because police said he burned a mattress, box springs and a head board from a room in his trailer where they said blood was found, the Morning Journal reported.
