WARREN, OH (WYTV) – A Niles man received a 10-year prison sentence Thursday morning for the overdose death of the son of a police detective.
Mark Thornsberry, 25, of 131 Wilson Ave., pleaded guilty February 5 to charges of involuntary manslaughter, corrupting another with drugs, tampering with evidence and heroin possession, all felonies.
Investigators said Joshua J. Robbins, 25, died May 31, 2014 at his Mineral Ridge home after Thornsberry injected him with heroin.
Robbins is the son of Niles police Detective James Robbins.
Thornsberry was arrested Oct. 13, 2014 by the Trumbull Ashtabula Group Law Enforcement Task Force, which investigated the case.
