YOUNGSTOWN (WYTV) – A Youngstown woman indicted on child endangering charges is in the Mahoning County Jail.

Tamara Julious, 30, and Albert Barnette, 40, both of Eliot Lane, are accused of repeatedly abusing their two children between November and January, when the children were 8 and 9.

“They were locking them in the room for days on end. No food, no water, no bathroom. Just a bucket. No clothing, no bed,” Mahoning County Assistant Prosecutor Dawn Cantalamessa said.

She said the children told investigators the treatment was a form of discipline.

“It’s really an abuse and neglect type of situation. They were disciplining over and above what they should be disciplining for, and the law makes means for this,” Cantalamessa said.

But she said the children also had signs of physical abuse, including bruises and other contusions on their legs, arms, chest and back.

The victims are in the custody of Mahoning County Children’s Services.

Police had been looking for the couple since an arrest warrant was issued on Friday. According to jail records, Barnette has not been arrested.
