Police arrest man in connection with bank robbery

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) — A man charged with robbing a bank in February is in the Mahoning County Jail.

Jayquawn Manigault, 22, of Youngstown, was indicted this month on aggravated robbery charges in connection to the incident at the Chase bank on Market Street.

It took some time for local police to get Manigault in custody because he had fled to Georgia. Authorities there arrested him earlier this month and recently extradited him back to Ohio.

Police said Manigault walked into the bank and said he wanted to open an account, but later handed a note to a teller demanding money.

Police traced a call Manigault made from the bank to his grandmother’s house.
