Winds topple trees, poles around area

Trees fall in Poland and Hubbard, Ohio

HUBBARD, Ohio (WYTV) – Stiff winds are wreaking havoc across the Mahoning Valley Tuesday, knocking over at least two trees.

In Poland, a downed tree on North Lima Road near East Western Reserve Road knocked power out to a few houses around noon. In Hubbard, a tree fell across Seifert-Lewis Road, also around noon, blocking passage for motorists.

A tree also fell around 4 p.m. on state Route 534 at Shanks Phalanx Road in Braceville, nearly knocking over a power line. The road is shut down while crews clear the tree and Ohio Edison shuts off the power.

Just before 5 p.m., a pole at Meadow Brook Memorial Park on State Road was snapped at the base from the wind and that road also was shut down.
