BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – Earth Day was last week, but Mercy Health hospitals are doing their part to help out.
St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman and St. Joseph Health Center in Warren both hosted a shred day on Tuesday. Documents were collected for recycling.
Not only does it protect people from papers getting into the wrong hands, but it is also better for the environment.
“Anything that we take off site, such as this truck, we take it back to our secure facility. The material has to be shredded within 72 hours, it is always typically shredded the same day as the trucks get back. Everything is wheeled off, dumped and gets shredded,” Shred-It service manager Jon Babic said.
Another shred event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
