Boardman rallies past Poland


Struthers, OH (WYTV) – Boardman’s Nick Stamp hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 8th inning to help the Spartans knock off Poland, 8-7 Wednesday at Cene Park.

Poland took an early lead, thanks to Dom Lipari, who drove in two runs in the top of the first inning. Boardman would come back to tie the game at 3 later in the second inning. It was tied at 7 heading to the 8th inning, when Stamp drove home the game-winning run. Stamp finished the day with 3 RBI’s.

The Spartans were also led by Gaven Strines, who went 3-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Danny Boerio got the win on the mound, giving up 3 earned and 5 hits through 4 innings of work.

Boardman improves to 11-9 on the season, while Poland drops to 14-2 overall.
