CANFIELD, Ohio (WYTV) – A four-car accident at the intersection of U.S. Route 224 and Fairgrounds Boulevard in Canfield Thursday has backed up traffic in an area already congested by construction.
The accident happened around noon. Traffic on 224 and cars coming off of Ohio Route 11 lined up for over an hour, waiting for police to clear the scene.
An Ohio State Highway Patrol officer said that a driver’s failure to yield caused the accident and that nearby construction did not play a role in the crash.
Canfield Police, officers from the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office and paramedics assisted at the scene.
