CANFIELD, Ohio (WYTV) – Anyone looking for a little Youngstown nostalgia this weekend can head to The Idora Park Experience, 4450 S. Turner Road in Canfield.

The museum, dedicated to the historical Idora Park, is operated by Jim and Toni Amey. It will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $5.

The couple have been collecting Idora Park memorabilia for decades and opened the museum on April 26, 1984, which was the 30-year anniversary of the fire that closed the amusement park for good.

Jim Amey visited the South Side park on a regular basis and even worked there one summer. The park opened in 1899 and was one of the most famous amusement parks in the nation.
