YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A year of hard work has paid off big for a Youngstown State University mechanical engineering professor.
Ganesh Kudav got a patent for a solar wind deflector. He spent the last year working on the invention.
He said a lot of high rise buildings and big cities have solar panels on the roof to help out with energy. In windy situations, they can can be knocked off.
Kudav’s solar panel wind deflector can help prevent that.
“We are identifying partners who would be able to use the technology and I believe there is a lot of promise in whoever uses the technology,” Kudav said.
Research funding from a company helped out with the project. A graduate student and an undergraduate also helped out on the year-long project.
