WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Friday, Warren Police identified the officer who shot a man during a confrontation late Wednesday night.
According to the police’s human resources department, the officer is Adam Huffman, 27, of Warren. Police have placed Huffman on paid administrative leave as of Thursday.
Huffman has been working with the Warren Police Department since November of 2012, according to documents in his personnel file.
Huffman’s personnel file included no instances of disciplinary action against him.
Warren Police Chief Eric Merkel confirmed Thursday that Randall Bryant was the man shot. He is in critical condition in a Youngstown hospital Friday.
Merkel said the situation began as a domestic violence call on Warren’s northeast side just before midnight but changed when Bryant, armed with a shotgun, confronted Huffman on the porch of a house on Charles Avenue and Harrison Street. Merkel said that the officer ordered Bryant to drop the weapon twice and then shot him.
