POLAND, Ohio (WYTV) – Three people are behind bars Friday after several burglaries in Poland Township.
Poland Township Police Chief Brian Goodin said Maurice Resper, 21, Devin Gilmore, 23 and a juvenile broke into two houses and a car early Thursday morning, taking several items, including a white princess piggy bank.
Resper is charged with aggravated burglary, among other offenses, while Gilmore is charged with burglary, theft and contributing to the delinquency of a child.
Police reported that the suspects sped along Route 170 and ran through a number of backyards before being stopped.
The suspects had a stolen flat-screen TV in their car, along with cash, credit cards and a gun stolen from a home in Mercer County, according to police, who said the burglaries happened while the homeowners slept.
The homes were on Valiant and Thunderbird Drives and Lee Lynn Court in Poland Township.
The suspects appeared in court Friday and are scheduled to be back in court again in June.
