Aces’ path to Final Four
Head Coach: Tim Shock
…Hicksville was the 5th seed in the Bryan District Tournament; however, after six playoff wins the Aces are back in the State Tournament for the first time since 1982….The Aces’ freshman hurler Jake Greer tossed a complete game, five-hitter to pace his team past Miller City (5-1) in the Regional title contest. Greer also had a pair of hits (double) and drove in two runs to support his cause… In 1978, the Aces won their only state title by knocking off Bishop Fenwick (11-2) in the Class A championship tilt.

Blue Devils’ path to Final Four
Head Coach: Ed Anthony
…Western Reserve returns to the state tournament for the second time in as many years…Last year, the Devils (19-6) were turned away by Newark Catholic in the Final Four (6-2)…Reserve scored 8 runs in the top of the fourth frame to take a commanding 8-1 lead over St. Thomas Aquinas in the Regional Final. Walker Marlowe and Evan Nesbitt both had two hits apiece while John Clegg threw 5 string innings, striking out 4 and not allowing an earned run to cross the plate as the Blue Devils advanced to the State Semifinals…Western Reserve has posted a 10-1 mark over the past two post-seasons (2014-15). The Devils have outscored their opposition during this stretch by an average of 6.4 to 2.5.

Winner to play against either Fort Recovery or Newark Catholic in the Division IV State Championship game on Saturday (June 6) at 1 pm from Huntington Park
