Larimer, Reserve heading to State Final

Western Reserve's Wyatt Larimer had 10 K's and an RBI to help the Blue Devils reach the State Final.


COLUMBUS, Ohio (WYTV)-Behind a dominant performance on the mound by Wyatt Larimer, Western Reserve is heading to their first State Title game in school history after topping Hicksville 5-2 Thursday night.

After playing scoreless baseball for the first three innings, Western Reserve’s John Clegg hit a 2-run triple in the 4th to score the first runs of the game for either team.

Evan Nesbitt followed with a single that brought Clegg home and extended the Blue Devils lead to 3-0.

Western Reserve extended the lead in the 6th when Ryan Demsky tripled to score Ian Hames which was followed by Larimer singling home Demsky to push the lead to 5-0.

Larmier left the mound after the 5th allowing only 3 hits and had 10 K’s.

Western Reserve will go for revenge against Newark Catholic Saturday in Columbus for the Division IV title. Newark defeated the Blue Devils in the State Semifinals last year.
