Warren woman charged with forgery in Boardman

Talmer bank

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Warren woman was arrested in a parking lot on Boardman-Poland Road less than a block from where police said she tried to cash a check that was not hers on Friday afternoon.

Quincy Montgomery, 18, was charged with forgery and passing bad checks, both felonies, according to Boardman police. They said Montgomery tried to cash a forged check at Talmer Bank, 724 Boardman-Poland Road.

A vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle, a gray or silver Volkswagen, was pulled over in the parking lot of Dick’s Sporting Goods across from the Shops at Boardman Park within minutes of the crime.

Boardman police said another person in the vehicle was arrested by Poland Village Police after a similar incident there earlier in the day. Police said the second suspect matched surveillance video taken from the Poland Village incident.

No further information on the Poland incident was available.
