YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Home Savings Charitable Foundation donated $10,000 to the Beatitude House on Thursday.

The money will go toward sponsoring the Over the Edge Event. It is a fundraising event to celebrate 25 years of service for the Beatitude House.

The Beatitude House serves disadvantaged women and children across the Valley.

“We have major repairs to do. We want to continue to maintain, but also enhance our programs. The homeless situation in our area, in the three counties in which we serve, Mahoning, Trumbull and Ashtabula, serving 75 families right now. We hope to be able to build upon that and really meet the needs of so many of the homeless in our area,” Beatitude House Executive Director Janet Gardner said.

Part of the Over the Edge event will include a chance to rappel over the edge of the tallest building in downtown Youngstown, the Metropolitan building. Participants must raise $1,000 to take part.
