Howland’s Carnifax verbals to Northwestern

Howland's Tommy Carnifax

HOWLAND, Ohio (WYTV) – Howland’s Tommy Carnifax has verbally committed to play college football in the Big Ten at Northwestern.

The Tigers’ standout plays both Defensive End and Tight End at the high school level, but is expected to play exclusively on defense in college with the Wildcats.

Last season, the 6’4 250-pounder racked up 57 solo tackles with six sacks.  He earned Special Mention All-Ohio honors for this play last Fall.

Carnifax chose NU over offers from Maryland, Duke, Wisconsin and Kentucky. He also had offers from Iowa, Cincinnati and Purdue.

He joins the following Howland alumni to commit to play for Big Ten programs in recent years: Tyler Scott (Northwestern), Doug Datish (Ohio State), Tony Davis (Penn State), De’Veon Smith (Michigan), Lance Smith (Wisconsin), Maurice Smith (Michigan State), and Anthony Stanko (Penn State).
