SHARON, Pa. (WYTV) – The city of Sharon continues to improve through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.

On Thursday, an open house was held for a fourth home on Euclid Avenue that has been rehabilitated and ready to be sold. It all comes through a grant by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The Neighborhood Stabilization Program was developed in 2008 to address foreclosures and abandoned properties. It gets houses back on the tax roll and revitalizes neighborhoods.

“Hopefully, we can get from the proceeds of this home, hopefully we would be able to get another home in the city of Sharon through the tax judicial sale, be able to rehab it and resell it. We would love to keep the program going,” Sharon Community Development Director Janet Thomas said.

Anyone looking to purchase the home will go through an application process through the Mercer County Housing Authority, as well as home ownership counseling.
