LORDSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Plant managers are set to unveil the new version of the Chevy Cruze Thursday in Lordstown, two weeks after it made its national debut in Detroit.
At the late-June unveiling of the new vehicle, Lordstown plant manager Steve Notar Donato said the new Cruze should be available in the spring of 2016.
“This is their future and this is our future and the entire Mahoning Valley where the Lordstown plant is located is excited about this project,” Notar Donato said.
Several local United Auto Workers representatives and plant workers were at the2016 Cruze reveal in Detroit. They all said they like the new look of the 2016 model and all the advancements General Motors has made to not only the design, but the fuel economy as well.
“The excitement is there. I know that the membership is excited for the fact that it gives us some type of future,” UAW Local 1714 President Robert Morales said.
