NEW CASTLE, Pa. (WYTV) – Police arrested a registered New Castle sex offender Wednesday, charging that he was hiding in his house and trying to change his appearance to avoid law enforcement authorities, according to a post on the New Castle Police Department’s Facebook page.

Police arrested Larry and Michelle Cragle after serving a bench warrant at a house on E. Washington St. The Facebook post stated that Larry Cragle was free after posting bond but did not appear for his sentencing and is facing several decades of jail time.

Police charged Larry with default in required appearance and flight to avoid apprehension, both third-degree felonies. Police charged Michelle with conspiracy to commit flight to avoid apprehension, hindering apprehension, tampering with evidence and giving false reports, according to the post.

Larry Cragle dyed his hair blonde and was in the process of growing a beard, while Michelle had also dyed her hair black, the post stated.
