YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced the arrest of a Boardman man Thursday, saying he set up a meeting with a female who he thought was underage, according to a press release.
Police with DeWine’s Crimes Against Children Unit charged Charles Jaminet, 31, with importuning, a felony, after arresting him Wednesday night.
Investigators took the suspect into custody when he arrived at a hotel in the Mahoning Valley after arranging to meet who he believed was an underage female to engage in sexual activity, according to the press release.
According to the release, the arrest was part of a joint operation by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Austintown Police Department, Mahoning County Law Enforcement Task Force, Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office and Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office which targeted prostitution and child solicitation.
Eleven additional individuals, who are unrelated to the importuning case, were arrested on charges such as soliciting prostitution and promoting prostitution as part of the operation.
